Music Retreat 2025
I‘m back from my summer stay in Shetland for two days now. I had a fantastic time. Two weeks of retreat and one week of masterclass at the Shetland Fiddle Week. Shetland has become a happy place for me. It’s the perfect place for me to calm down and escape our fast-paced, high-octane lives. I can work on my projects, practice, compose and find focus. I also meet such fine folk with the same attitude all the time. And of course, there’s a lot of wonderful music / sessions around, and the nature is gorgeous; very inspiring for me. The weather was fantastic this year. Almost no rain and, for me, a perfect maximum temperature of 23 degrees. I can’t stand the heat and strong sun here in switzerland very well. I spent a lot of time outside with my fiddles on my back, hiking and finding beautiful places to make music. I had a little online detox during this time and will try to post more about my time on the islands in the coming weeks. Many thanks to all the lovely local people there and at the course for supporting my development as a musician and music / fiddle teacher and for the opportunity to see all the wonderful places. Thank you for all the hospitality and for making me feel so at home!
